My Journey in Education

Hello, I’m Veronika! For the past 10 years, I’ve been teaching English and French as a second language at a high school (Gymnasium) in Switzerland. My passion for languages sparked early in life, leading me to a career dedicated to helping students appreciate the beauty of communication.

As a language enthusiast, I believe that mastering a new language broadens horizons and fosters a deeper understanding of diverse cultures. I strive to create a classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and exploration, where students feel comfortable engaging with literature and expressing their thoughts.

Throughout my career, I've developed various resources and lesson plans that make literature accessible and enjoyable. My mission is to instill a love for reading and critical thinking, inspiring students to explore the world through the lens of language.

Literature Lesson Plans My Teaching Philosophy

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that education should be a journey of discovery, where students are active participants in their learning. My teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging and inclusive environment that nurtures curiosity and fosters a sense of belonging.

I emphasize the importance of critical thinking and creativity in the classroom, encouraging students to analyze literature and connect it to their lives. By incorporating diverse texts and interactive activities, I aim to make lessons dynamic and relevant.

Collaboration and open dialogue are vital components of my approach. I value the unique perspectives each student brings and create opportunities for sharing ideas and discussions. By promoting respect and empathy, I strive to cultivate a classroom culture that celebrates diversity.

Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to become confident, passionate learners who can appreciate the richness of literature and its impact on the world around them.

Inside each Resource

Each resource is thoughtfully designed to provide educators with a comprehensive lesson plan tailored for a 45-minute class period, in line with the Swiss educational system. However, these plans are flexible and can easily be adapted to suit the time requirements of your country.

The lesson plans detail the methodology employed, whether it involves group work, pair work, or individual tasks, along with the time allocations for each activity. This structured approach ensures that teachers can deliver engaging and effective lessons, catering to diverse learning styles.

In addition to the lesson plans, each resource includes all necessary materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, and answer keys. I believe in the importance of adaptability, which is why worksheets are provided in Word document format. This allows teachers the freedom to modify content to better fit their classroom needs, ensuring that every lesson is tailored to their students' unique learning journeys.
